Week 7 - finishing project B
Final polishing of the game took me about 3 hours. I was mostly trying to polish the problem, that the player could skip parts of the map by dying and then spawning on the beginning of the map which also happens to be very close the end of the map. I tried to dig into the code and make it so when the player dies, it would reset the whole scene, but I was adding more bugs than features by my attempts to do that, so in the end I decided that when the player dies (like completelly running out of health), he will spawn at the latest checkpoint he went through, instead in the beginning of the map.
I also added one checkpoint in the left bottom corner of the map, as I think it is fairly important there. Otherwise I strictly followed the one page design provided to me.
Finally I added a start and end scene. Adding the start scene also caused, that there is a background music playing during the game, which I also wanted to fix in the last two weeks, so now it is done as well.
Finally I shot a short gameplay video. When I tried to record it while playing fullscreen, the video frame rate was like 1 fps, so I tried to record the gameplay directly in the Unity, which gave a better frame rate of the video, so it's now much more watchable (although still nothing extra good).
