Week 3 - scripting and Orb Maze
Week 3 was in a mood of scripting. Unity tutorials went without problems, I finished them up in 2 hours of time.
After that I went into tutorial Roll a Ball. As I found the tutorial valuable, I went through the whole thing even though we were supposed to work on it for about 75 minutes. In the end I spent about 3.5 hours on it. In my opinion, this tutorial was the best one so far as it showed how to build a game from bottom and it gave much better intuition about triggers, rigid body, physics, movement, structure of the project, creating prefabs etc. than other tutorials that we went through so far. Myself I would appreciate more, if we were supposed to do the whole tutorial as a part of the course, myself I probably wouldn't even see problem having this as a one of the very first tutorials during the course, as most of us students already have C# knowledge and it would be more intuitive to understand, how does the Unity GUI connect with source codes, that we would write sooner or later anyway.
Anyway, I called my Roll a Ball game Orb maze, as the main theme is collecting gems in the maze. Nothing too much fancy, but it's playeable and I enjoyed working on it.
